Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization and became incorporated in September 2009 to provide sensible solutions. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!
Our mission is to foster and nurture the spirit of individuals who have extraordinary needs, embrace individuality, and cultivate continued progression along the life spectrum of their daily living.

Helping others to live a quality life is the best service one can give. SFH thanks you for your service to extraordinary individuals. Mr. Howard & Ms. Rochelle (Picture Shown).
Individuals with Special Needs will need support throughout their life time.
Caregivers want to make sure their individuals with Special Needs are taken care of financially when they are no longer able to provide for them and may plan to take out an insurance policy and name the individual with Special Needs as the beneficiary.
Be careful NOT TO DO THIS. Any lump-sums paid from a life insurance policy directly to Individuals with Special Needs will jeopardize any government benefits (ex; Social Security) that they are entitled to.
To leave an Individual with Special Needs any lump sums of monies from insurance policies or any other financial sources set up a Special Needs Trust (SNT) and name that Special Needs Trust as the BENEFICIARY.
Your support and contributions will enable SFH to meet its goals and improve conditions for those with extraordinary needs. Your contributions and donations will fund this mission.

A LIFE OF LOYAL SERVICE
Carnation Green gained its name because Mother Joan Deborah's favorite color is green.
Carnation was added because of the carnation's flower beauty, resilience, and durability.
Carnation Green came to life shortly after Mother Joan Deborah took residency in her heavenly home.
Carnation Green is an entity of SFH that provides a focused dedicated service to those with extraordinary needs.
Carnation Green is dedicated to Mother Joan Deborah's service of love throughout her life. As a young girl, she was family oriented and would help her siblings on a continuous basis -- all other family and friends could depend on her as well. She is a gentle spirit.
Her service would continue through her life. She was committed to human-kind. She would ultimately decide to make a career caring for others.
She was a nurse for 32 years until retirement. Mother Joan Deborah would continue serving others after her retirement. She held part-time jobs at skilled care facilities. She was loyal in the care of both of her parents. And began a NEW "Mothership" as she became intense support for a child with extraordinary needs (disabilities). Mother Joan Deborah would then serve as the advisor, funny lady, and diplomat of SFH.
Mother Joan Deborah would be an honorary board member until her separation from this Earth. Ironically, She continues to hold the status of Honorary Board Member. The status is eternal for her.
Carnation Green is in HONOR of MOTHER JOAN DEBORAH's Loyal Service.
